Malcolm Webber is still grieving the loss of his partner of 20 years to cancer. He's buried his mind and feelings in his legal work and isn't looking for another relationship. In this lovely tale, our men get a second chance at love, and a chance to completely heal and move on. Malcolm is a successful tax attorney, 52.Work is busy, plus he's still grieving the loss of his longtime partner to cancer. Hans is an author of adventure novels, and at 42, he's been burned by a cheating ex. Hans needs some IRS tax help, and the men meet. After the issue is resolved, the men meet once again by chance at a restaurant. They are both attracted to the other and become friends. Each man shares his story, and their feeling grow, in this slow burn romance. The first part of the story is a "base" or set up to the second half. We see the disgruntled employee escalate to bitterness and violence, while the men gradually become boyfriends. As always with Andrew Grey, it's a wonderful, interesting story with super romance and hot loving. All of the characters are terrific, and we get an HEA.
Recommended highly for all romance lovers.

I enjoyed the read, however, I wasn't sure about the fit. Loved each one individually but for a while Malcom was just, on my nerves. Especially when he finds out Hans may need him. Thankfully, he got over it and got back to what I was looking for, a love story. This isn't the first book my Andrew that I have read and it will not be the last.
The sad passing of time, the limits of human feeling, the dealing with death. You side with David - the dead boyfriend - in this book. You feel outraged - not once, but twice. Once because of course, death. Twice because the substitute is not compelling. Good luck.
This is a mixture for me, I liked the book and the storyline, but I wanted to strangle Malcolm at times. Hans on the other hand was a saint. His patience with the uptight lawyer was above and beyond. I get the whole grieving thing, but damn, it can go a little to far.
A beautiful story of tentatively opening yourself up to life and love again after losing the love of your life. It is a struggle for Malcolm but Hans is ready for the challenge after his own life change. Mr. Grey writes with all the texture that comes from his own long marriage. Life is full of surprises around every corner. This book is a lovely one everyone should read.
This was a heart wrenching journey through lost and found again love. It was also somewhat depressing. Malcolm lived his loss of his husband David every single day and even after a year, dragged himself through life by rote. Hans came into his life and through shear determination, lite the spark of love back into Malcolm's life.
I was glad they finally realized their HEA even though the journey was grueling.
Andrew Grey knows how to weave a great story! Every story I have read written by him has not only entertained, but kept me intrigued. Hans and Malcolm have both had their share of pain. Fate brings them together and allows for the walls they have but,t around their hearts to be shattered. The way this author handles to role and feelings of the caregiver in the situation of caring for a loved one that us dieing was wonderful. Great, great read.
I LUV love stores about middle-age men who are moving forward with their lives. Some nice sub-plots about age differences, and due to fame and careers can the characters come together? The author provided some insights into hesitations about a 2nd love, self-doubts, are hopes realistic or false?
I'd have liked to read more about the thoughts of the characters. Given their careers I'm sure much more could be said about how they might blend their careers, and office/family, politics.
I'd love to read about them in 10-20 years, and how they maneuver through issues later in life. I hope Andrew Grey is listening )
