I can not resist this series of books. I have read everyone and some a number of times. I can not put them down. Both the main characters and sub character are so well put together, and the story has progressed in such a well constructed way that you want it to occur. The stories are great and gripping with how the crimes get solves. The futuristic flavour is well considered and believable. The chemistry between Eve and Roake is magic and both characters retain their own strong dominate stance, yet have that devotion to each other that is inspiring.I am alway thrill yet sad when I finish the latest book as I then have to wait to the next instalment. Would absolutely love this to become a movie, but doubt they would ever find the perfect actors to do justice to the books character and storyline, as to defer from what is written in the books would be as usually is a disappointment.

I have read a good number of JD's books and have enjoyed them all to varying degrees.You don't know where the twists and turns are going to lead you. Shorter than some of the others she has written, which is not so hard on the nervous system.
I love all of the Eve Dallas books. Recently, I started listening to them on CD. The narrator makes the dialog pop and the story always keeps part of my m,involved, whick means I don't get caught up in traffic problems or "road anger." By the time I get home, I don't want to get out of the car because I want to finish the section, chapter, or book.
I love these books they are a great set. I would recomend them but use causion if you are like me and are a stay at home mom with kids running around. I listen to them while I work and have to be careful to skip section for my children's sake but that doesnt hurt the story at all They are great!!!
I have enjoyed all of the books by J. D. Robb. The chemistry between the characters makes them seem much too real. Anyone who enjoys reading J. D. Robb must read this. Also, anyone who enjoys a good mystery. There are some futuristic elements (set 2059-2060+) so if you are absolutely set against that it may not be for you. Otherwise read it.
First of all, some people gave this story poor reviews because they didn't know this was from the usual November anthology and were unhappy because it's a short story. That's not what the story review is for. Others didn't like how "out there" the story is. This is the first Robb story regarding gene manipulation since Origin and why wouldn't some mad scientist try something this strange? Also, I went back and checked the reviews in Origin and only 3 out of a hundred reviews didn't like the story, yet both addressed a scientific taboo still in effect half a century later. Is it because one was about Beauty and the other is about the Beast? What I enjoyed about the story is that, as usual, even a short story by Robb is full of character (and characters), humor and keeps the continuity of the storyline running. I am so glad that Robb tries out new things in the stories. It keeps the series from growing stale. The rest of the stories weren't bad, either.
Eve is back with Peabody.
There are a lot of funny conversations in this book.
The plot is quiet easy, but the story line is smooth.
Roarke is being careful in this book, I think it is very sweet.
The relationship between them is progress, so the kudos to the JD.Robb.
In all, I really love this story, if you are looking for a easy and interesting story, this is your choice!
